COUNTRY STYLE AND A&W EXPECTING TWINS
By Adnews Staff
Country Style Donuts of Richmond Hill, Ontario and Vancouver-based A&W Food Services of Canada are launching their first "ground up" fully integrated twinned restaurant in Canada. The Mississauga, Ontario-based location will differ slightly from regular twinned restaurants that normally just share a building by offering the menus of both chains from one single service counter. Kevin Watson, executive vice president and general manager of Country Style said the Mississauga location will be monitored and its results evaluated for a three to six month period before plans are made to open additional "ground up" twinned locations. Following the grand opening of the first location this Friday, a local marketing plan for a six month period is being considered. Watson said Country Style may turn to Toronto-based Walsh and Associates Advertising, which it works with on a project basis for its promotional and advertising assignments or turn to other agencies it has worked with in the past. PR for Country Style is handled by Hunter LaVigne Communications of Toronto.
