TELUS CALLING LOCAL AGENCIES

Canada's second largest telecommunications company Telus has invited a group of Vancouver-based agencies to pitch for the creative assignment for its wireline business. The Burnaby, B.C.-based company is hoping to have a decision regarding the business by the end of the month. The wireline business includes local, long distance, call management and phone stores. Doug Strachan, media relations manager for Telus said the company wanted to consider all possibilities with a fresh look in regards to the advertising strategies for its wireline business. Although Strachan would not reveal which agencies were invited to pitch, he did confirm one-year-old incumbent Ogilvy & Mather had been invited to pitch. Telus' agency roster also includes: Realm Communications, Go Direct Marketing, Palmer Jarvis DDB and OMD.
