WORKOPOLIS.COM MAKES ITS DEBUT
By Adnews Staff
A $7 million multi-media marketing and advertising campaign will support the recently launched job site Workopolis.com, reinforce its brand name and position it as Canada's biggest job site. The new site is the result of an alliance between Globe Information Services, operators of the globeandmail.com Web centre and Toronto Star Newspapers Ltd., whose online presence includes thestar.com and toronto.com. In October, publishing company Torstar Corporation, owners of Toronto Star Newspapers Ltd., purchased a 40 per cent stake of Globe Information Services' globecareers.com. Workopolis.com, being described as "the Web site that works for you", will be promoted using outdoor, print, online, television and transit advertising from Ranscombe & Co. of Toronto. As the campaign runs its will increase in frequency and expand to include magazine advertising and possibly radio promotion. The new site incorporates online jobs from globecareers.com, all careers from The Globe and Mail, as well as jobs from The Toronto Star, the Kitchener-Waterloo Record and The Hamilton Spectator. Users can manage job searches through their personal job list, receive career alerts, save searches and check how many times recruiters have viewed their resume.
