LG ELECTRONICS CANADA TAPS MACKINNON CALDERWOOD

LG Electronics Canada Inc. of Mississauga, Ontario has tapped MacKinnon Calderwood Advertising as its advertising agency following a review that included Calderwood and a second unnamed agency. LG Electronics Canada will be launching a four-month campaign as part of its parent company LG Electronics' worldwide launch campaign. The advertising is designed to position the LG brand as a leader in digital technology in the consumer, business and information sectors. LG Electronics Canada markets both the Zenith and Goldstar brands. The television campaign includes a 30-second spot in both English and French created in-house by LG Electronics of Seoul, Korea. MacKinnon Calderwood will be responsible for strategic counsel, media planning and buying, sales support, research tracking and any adaptation of the spot needed for the Canadian market. The ad will air in major markets beginning in December. As part of the Celine Dion Special Farewell Concert on New Year's Eve, the French spot is scheduled for the first break after midnight. MacKinnon Calderwood Advertising is based in Mississauga, Ontario with offices in Montreal, New York and Los Angeles.
