TIMEX AND TELETOON TAKE A LICKING AND KEEP ON TICKING

Teletoon, the Toronto-based animation station, and Timex Canada of Markham, Ontario are solving a mystery. The two have partnered together in a month-long promotion for the launch of Timex's new "Mystery Answer Watch" for children. The national promotion, running both on-air and online, gives viewers a chance to see and hear the new watch and try out a simulation of it. A "virtual" facsimile of the watch can be found on a Timex mini-Web site at Teletoon's own Web site at <http://www.teletoon.com>. The "Mystery Answer Watch" has the ability to talk to its wearer. The wearer can ask questions and the watch responds with a selection of generic answers programmed inside it. The new watch is being promoted through the "Timex Mystery Answer Watch Contest". Teletoon will ask a different question each week. Kids can enter the contest by mailing their answers to Teletoon or going to the station's Web site and entering online to win one of 150 watches. The promotion is being supported with a 30-second spot running twice a day created by Teletoon's ad agency Griffin Bacal Volny of Toronto. The contest closes December 13th.
