EDELMAN PICKS UP FIVE

Edelman Public Relations Canada has announced five new account wins for its Toronto-based office including being named agency-of-record for Toronto-based The Home Depot Canada. The home improvement retailer retained Edelman to build on its own public relations efforts as well as to assist in developing the company's 2000 corporate communications strategy. Edelman Public Relations Worldwide has also won a competitive pitch to build awareness for The Home Depot's Olympic sponsorship and involvement in the company's career opportunity program across North America. The research-based pharmaceutical company Glaxo Wellcome of Mississauga, Ontario has chosen the healthcare practice of Edelman to handle its newest drug Lotronex. Toronto-based Parke-Davis, the pharmaceutical division of Warner-Lambert, has also picked the healthcare practice for a new product in the women's health care division. Both were competitive pitches involving an unconfirmed numbers of agencies. Edelman will create pre-launch public relations programs for both products. EcomPark Inc. of Toronto has selected the technology practice of Edelman to provide strategic public relations. Edelman will work to build up EcomPark's image as Canada's premiere Web enablement company. Burnbrae Farms of Mississauga, Ontario has chosen Edelman's consumer practice to handle the company's marketing communications activities. Burnbrae Farms produces and distributes table eggs and egg products across the country. Edelman Public Relations Canada, part of Edelman Public Relations Worldwide, operates Canadian offices in Toronto and Montreal.
