BURGER KING SERVING POKEMON

Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Canada have teamed up with Burger King Corporation and Burger King Restaurants of Canada Inc. in a limited time Pokemon promotion, to run in conjunction with the November 12, 1999 release of Pokemon's first animated feature "Pokemon: The First Movie". Beginning November 8, Burger King restaurants across North America will feature 57 toys in 56 days, one included in each kids meal . The toys, which will be packed in a Poke Ball and include one of 151 trading cards, is the largest effort ever for the fast food chain. Consumers can also purchase one of six collectible 23K gold plated trading cards for $2.99 with the purchase of any value meal beginning November 15. A national television commercial goes to air at the end of November. In addition, local radio support and newspaper inserts in select markets and in-store point-of-purchase materials in all 302 Burger King locations across Canada will support the promotion. Advertising for Burger King is done by Ammirati Puris Lintas of New York. Ammirati Puris Lintas of Toronto adapts all advertising for the Canadian market. A Web site component to the promotion allows kids to keep track of their progress in collecting the toys. Additional materials will be available at <http://www.burgerking.com> beginning November 8. PR for
Burger King Restaurants of Canada Inc. is handled by Budman and Associates of Toronto.
