TRANSCONTINENTAL COMPUTING WITH PLESMAN COMMUNICATIONS

Transcontinental Publications Inc. of Montreal has announced its plans to acquire Plesman Communications Inc. of Toronto. Plesman was founded in 1974. It publishes seven titles including Computing Canada, Computer Dealer News and Direction Informatique. Circulation for these publications ranges from 18,000 to 37,000 per title. The transaction is expected to close by the end of September. Following closing of the deal, Transcontinental Publications becomes one of the largest specialty publishers in Canada, with a combined total of close to 40 titles in both English and French.
