SMIRNOFF PROMOTING FASHION AWARDS, FASHION TV AND NEW CAMPAIGN

Smirnoff, distributed in Canada by United Distillers and Vintors of Toronto, is getting ready for the international finals of the Smirnoff Fashion Awards in Hong Kong with a new promotion/contest. The promotion, airing on Toronto's Citytv, is designed to raise public awareness about the Awards through three new 60-second vignettes, highlighting the accomplishments of the design students who participate in the Awards and a 30-second promo spot for the enter-to-win contest running from August 30 to October 15. The three vignettes will run on Citytv a minimum of nine times a week from August 30 to October 10. Consumers can enter by mail of through the Smirnoff microsite at <http://www.citytv.com>.
In other Smirnoff news, the company has become the presenting sponsor of Citytv's FT Fashion Television, hosted by Jeanne Beker. Smirnoff's sponsorship begins in October and as a sponsor of FT, Smirnoff will receive two 30-second commercials as well as opening and closing billboards. Smirnoff will also be launching its new Fall television advertising campaign called "TRIBE" in mid-October. The campaign, created by Roche Macaulay & Partners of Toronto, runs until Christmas. The media buy was handled by HYPN of Toronto.
