By Adnews Staff
Toronto-based Centennial College has selected Turbulence Communications, an independent shop of McCann-Erickson WorldGroup, following an advertising agency review by a committee of college representatives. Turbulence was awarded the account following a competition which included incumbent Campbell Michener & Lee of Toronto as well as two other unconfirmed agencies. Turbulence will work with Centennial on the college's student recruitment and partnership development accounts. "Colleges are marketing more aggressively for students and corporate partnerships," Centennial College president Richard Johnston said. John Johnston, vice president, advancement added "We felt comfortable choosing an innovative, streetwise agency - we're prepared to take some risks. It's not a statement you'll hear a lot of other schools making." Approximately 30 agencies participated in the review prior to a short list being announced.
