DRUG TRADING CO. LAUNCHES NEW CAMPAIGN

According to an article in yesterday's National Post newspaper, Drug Trading Co. of Markham, Ontario, launching a new advertising campaign. The company is reportedly spending $10 million on a five-month advertising effort. Last week a series of four television advertisements began airing, showing real-life pharmacists going "above and beyond the call of duty". One spot features a B.C. druggist climbing over rockslides to deliver medication to a hospital pharmacy. Another shows a pharmacist awakened by an emergency call and opening her store in the middle of the night to deliver supplies to a maternity ward. A fifth commercial promotes the certified private label brand. The advertising was produced by Two Door Communications of Toronto. According to the article, the five spots are being supported with local radio advertising. Drug Trading Co. supplies 750 pharmacists under the IDA, Guardian, C-D-M and RxCentreal banners.
