PATRIOT COMPUTERS AND MATTEL MEDIA LAUNCH BARBIE AND HOT WHEELS PCS

Patriot Computers of Markham, Ontario and Mattel Media of El Segundo, California have teamed up to launch two new kids-branded computers, Barbie and Hot Wheels PCs. To support the launch of the new computers, available this September through Patriot Computers, a US $15,000,000 launch campaign including print and television advertising will begin in mid-August and will run across North America. Advertising for Patriot Computers is done by Miller Interactive Advertising of Markham, Ontario. The specially designed computers were created with children's interests in mind. Both feature a customized colorful CPU case, an Intel Celeron processor, monitor, keyboard, speakers, mouse, mousepad and CD holder. The Barbie computer will also come with a Barbie Digital Camera while the Hot Wheels PC will feature the yellow flames seen on many Hot Wheels vehicles. Also included is a library of education and entertainment titles from both Mattel Media and The Learning Company. Patriot Computers is a manufacturer of PC bundles designed specifically for families. The Mattel Media product line includes family-oriented home software based on Mattel's brands and characters. PR for Patriot is handled by Contemporary Communications Ltd. of Vancouver.
