WIRE COMMUNICATIONS SPREADING THE WORD ON THE STREET

Wire Communications of Toronto is spreading the word on the street after being named the public relations agency-of-record for the annual WOTS Word on the Street book and magazine festival. Wire Communications won the account after previously working with Amie Hingston, executive director of WOTS, on other exhibitions and events. Wire Communications will handle media relations for the festival and work with WOTS' media partners, The Toronto Star, Citytv, CFRB1010 AM and The Mix 99.9 FM, in developing promotional campaigns. The one-day festival takes place September 26 on Queen Street West in Toronto. "Our aim with this festival is to emphasize the joy of reading and enhance public appreciation of the printed word in a fun and completely accessible environment," said Hingston. The festival features live readings from Canadian authors, stage performances, tips of the trade from writers associations and the opportunity to sift through thousands of books and magazines.
