RESEARCH-DIRECTOR.COM MAKES ITS DEBUT

Nick Andrews, current research director for Telemedia Broadcasting Inc.-The Fan 590, is launching a new private company called Research-Director.Com. Andrews told Adnews he is going to be offering "the same services [he provided to his previous employer] to stations in other markets." The new company will provide media companies, initially with a focus on radio stations, with research services using the Internet as a delivery tool. Promotion of the new company will include a direct mail campaign and possibly some print ads running in industry-related publications. However, ad plans have not been confirmed at this point. The goal of the company is to provide research services without the costs associated with a staffed position. A logo is being created by Gratton Works of Orangeville, Ontario and the website development is being done by Competitor Communications Inc. of Toronto. Clients of the new company will get online presentations, qualitative research management, strategic counsel, media presentations and public relations. Research-Director.Com will be based in Toronto. The company launches in September.
