CLICKTHROUGH INTERACTIVE GOES 24/7

The Toronto-based Internet advertising sales network ClickThrough Interactive has been acquired by the New York-based Internet media company 24/7 Media, Inc. for approximately US $5 million in stocks. ClickThrough represents more than 65 Web sites including The Weather Network, Canada Newswire, Toronto Stock Exchange and Canadian Living. Under the terms of the agreement ClickThrough will be maintained as a separate subsidiary of 24/7 Media and will continue to be headed up by president Jay Aber. As a result of the acquisition, ClickThrough will open new offices in several additional major cities across Canada. "24/7 Media's global reach means that our Web sites will be marketed worldwide, resulting in an immediate increase in revenue for them. And the combined ClickThrough Interactive/24/7 Media reach for Canadians on the Web will present tremendous opportunities for Canadian advertisers," ClickThrough president Jay Aber said. ClickThrough and 24/7 Media first teamed up 18 months ago. ClickThrough had exclusive rights to sell 24/7 Web sites in Canada and 24/7 had the rights to sell ClickThrough Web sites in the United States. Currently the Internet media company also has offices worldwide with London-based 24/7 Media Europe and Hong Kong-based 24/7 Media Asia.
