BLOCKBUSTER LAUNCHES NEW GAMES STORES

Blockbuster Canada is introducing a new aspect to its existing video rental business with the launch of Blockbuster Games stores. The new stores are located beside existing Blockbuster locations and are devoted to video game retailing. Services of the new Blockbuster Games stores include expanded video game rental selection, the option to try a game in-store before renting it, the option of trading in old games for Blockbuster giftcards, and a selection of both new and previously played games available for sale. The first two Blockbuster Games stores opened in Toronto on Saturday with special guest appearances by World Wrestling Federation's XPAC and Kane. Blockbuster Canada operates 350 stores across the country and is a subsidiary of U.S. entertainment company Viacom Inc.
