By Adnews Staff
Procter & Gamble of Cincinnati, has signed a five year agreement with the microbiological research centre Institut Pasteur of Paris. The consumer goods company which manufacturers brands such as Sunny Delight, Crest, Tide and Pampers, will work with the research centre to develop products aimed at improving hygiene in the home. The partnership will cover three areas: joint scientific research, which will produce innovations in the area of hygiene: testing antibacterial and other hygiene technologies in the development process; and active promotion of the importance of improving and maintaining high standards of hygiene. Earlier this year P&G launched three "new to the world" cleaning products: Dryel, which cleans "dry clean only" clothing at home. Febreze, which is a spray designed to eliminate household odors and Swiffer, which is a cleaning system for dry household surfaces that allows consumers to remove dust, dirt and hair. Financial details of the five year agreement with the Institut Pasteur were not disclosed. PR for this announcement is being handled by Hill & Knowlton.
