CNA LAUNCHES ONLINE FRENCH JOURNAL FOR NURSES

The Canadian Nurses Association of Ottawa has for the first time launched a national online journal for the francophone nursing community. The CNA, working in conjunction with the Nurses Association of New Brunswick, launched the French-language journal, L'infirmiere canadinn, at a conference in Moncton, New Brunswick last week. According to Ginette Lemire Rodger, CNA president, the launch of the online journal will allow interactive communication in the nursing community. The new online journal was launched at the Conference Acadie-Sherbrooke. The CNA promoted the site with postcards and pens featuring the Web site address and logo. The site itself also has a promotional feature that allows a user to send the site to a friend. Additional promotion of the online journal is planned for the August issue of the bilingual journal The Canadian Nurse/L'infirmiere canadienne, also currently published by the CNA. Features of the new online journal include: discussion forums on topics such as worklife, humor, student life, as well as news items, resources and letters accepted for publication from readers. An English online version is scheduled to launch in the fall 1999.
