SWISS CHALET LAUNCHING WOODY WOODPECKER PROMOTION

Swiss Chalet of Mississauga, Ontario and Universal Studios Consumer Products Group of Florida have teamed up for the launch of a new summer promotion at Swiss Chalet restaurants. Throughout the summer Swiss Chalet locations are transforming in "Woody Woodpecker Zones" offering limited time kids meals featuring Woody Sundaes and four collectible spoons. The summer promotion is being supported with television, outdoor and radio advertising created by ACLC Advertising of Toronto. According to Val Mcllroy, vice-president of marketing at CARA Operations Ltd., owners and operators of the Swiss Chalet chain, the summer promotion with Universal is an important shift in strategy for Swiss Chalet. "Swiss Chalet has always been successful and now we've put in place a strong framework for growth that is focused around enhancing the atmosphere and environment in our restaurants," said Mcllroy. "Swiss Chalet has a new menu, a contemporary new Vision 2000 restaurant design that's rolling out across the country and a new attitude and spirit." The restaurant chain has plans to open 20 to 30 Vision 2000 restaurants over the next three years. The new restaurants feature bistro-style interior and expanded, more comfortable takeout areas as well as new drive-thru services.
