NADBANK 95 AVAILABLE

The 1995 version of NADbank, the annual study of daily newspaper readers in Canada, was released by the Newspaper Marketing Bureau last week. Readership patterns have generally remained consistent over the past decade. However, there was a slight drop this year in the percentage of adults reading a newspaper every day, from 67% in 1994 to 65% this year. PMB president John Finneran attributes this to a general increase in newspaper prices spurred by a rise in newsprint costs, as well as the baseball and hockey strikes last year.
