By Adnews Staff
Wal-Mart Canada of Mississauaga, Ontario has announced the launch of a new prepaid phone card developed in conjunction with AT&T. The new phone cards will be available at every checkout inside Wal-Mart's 154 stores across Canada. To promote the new phone cards, in-store signage will be used along with advertisements in Wal-Mart's flyer. Wal-Mart radio, which is broadcast inside stores, will also be promoting the new phone cards. All promotion for the new phone cards was created in-house. The pre-paid cards will be offered in two denominations: a 20 minute card for $9.96 and a 45-minute card for $19.96. To use the card, customers dial a toll-free number to access an automated platform, then follow the voice prompts to place their call. Each phone call carries a unique personal identification number (PIN) that allows the caller to access the system. Additional features of the cards include: service in 10 different languages, speed dial memory, payphone access, automatic updates, 24-hour customer service and no service charges. "We developed the new Wal-Mart Phone Card specifically for people who want to budget their long-distance phone calls while they're away from home," Andrew Pelletier, director of Public Relations for Wal-Mart Canada said. "The phone card is perfect for business travelers, university and college students and tourists." Wal-Mart phone cards can be used to call internationally to more than 200 countries.
