LOOK AND INTERNET DIRECT MERGING TOGETHER

Look Communications of Montreal and I.D. Internet Direct Ltd. of Toronto have announced that the two companies will be merging their operations together. Using what is better known as a "wireless cable", Look currently offers wireless digital television services in Ontario and Quebec, and is in the process of introducing high-speed Internet services in Ontario. I.D. Internet Direct is a Canadian independent Internet service provider. After both companies have merged, Look Communications shareholders will own 60 per cent and current I.D. Internet Direct shareholders will own 40 per cent of the company. Look's infrastructure will step up I.D. Internet Directs plans to market high-speed data transmission services while both companies will be able to offer customers a new set of services. Both parties expect the transaction to be complete before the end of July 1999.
