DELTA HOTELS RE-IDENTIFY
By Adnews Staff
Delta Hotels, a Toronto-based wholly-owned subsidiary of Canadian Pacific Hotels Ltd., announced yesterday that it will roll out a new visual identity for the entire hotel chain between now and early 2000. The current 25-year-old Delta logo, a triangular shape representing a constellation together with the words "Delta Hotels & Resorts", is to be replaced by a new logo featuring a less-bright-blue stylized letter "D" along with the word "Delta". The new logo is designed to suggest motion and energy, as well as to act as a branding device capable of carrying the Delta identity to promotional vehicles where words might not be effective. "We're not introducing a new logo for the sake of introducing a new logo," said Delta vice-president of marketing and sales Ken Lambert. "This logo and identity reflects our growth and status as a leader in the Canadian hospitality industry." The new logo will be accompanied by a new advertising tagline: "Your room is ready". The creation of the new visual identity program was managed by Garneau, Wurstlin, Philip Brand Engineering of Toronto.
