CD PLUS.COM CLICKS ONTO ALTAVISTA CANADA

CD Plus.com Inc. of Toronto has announced the signing of an exclusive music retailing advertising agreement with Double Click Canada to advertise on the Internet search engine AltaVista Canada. In addition to AltaVista, the agreement includes advertising on Billboard.com and other sites within the Double Click network. CD Plus.com is a Canadian retailer of pre-recorded music and related entertainment products with 100 stores in six provinces and an Internet music retail website. AltaVista Canada was launched in January 1998 as the result of an agreement between Telus Advertising Services of Edmonton and the U.S.-based AltaVista Company Search Service, which is owned by Compaq Computer Corp. of Houston, Texas. Double Click Canada acts as the authorized international advertising sales agent for both the AltaVista site and other websites. Advertising plans were not confirmed at press time.
