CINEPLEX ODEON RENOVATES HUMBER CINEMAS

Toronto-based Cineplex Odeon Corp. is spending $400,000. to renovate its Bloor West Village's Humber Cinemas. The twin movie palace was built in 1947 and will receive upgrades to both of the theatre's auditoriums and lobby space. Renovations include spacious and plush seating, digital sound, enhanced aesthetics, new carpeting, paint and wallpaper and new concession stands offering a wide variety of snacks. The renovation has already begun and is scheduled to be complete next month. The cinema will remain open during the renovation but only one theatre will be operating at a time. Local promotion in the Bloor West Village is being planned for the grand re-opening. PR for Cineplex is handled by Environics Communications of Toronto.
