ALBERTA HEADS UP SAFETY CAMPAIGN
By Adnews Staff
A safety awareness campaign called "Heads Up" is being targeted at young workers and employers in industries where workers are most at risk of accidents: forestry, trucking and construction. A partnership between the Workers' Compensation Board-Alberta (WCB) and the Alberta Construction Safety Association (ACSA), the campaign uses tough, frank messages about accident risk. The $250,000 awareness campaign will extend throughout Alberta with radio commercials, advertising in industry magazines and periodicals and an innovative poster campaign in bars and restaurants frequented by young workers. Created by Ogilvy & Mather's Edmonton office, the campaign will run from mid-March to late June, to coincide with key hiring seasons for young workers.
