OKANAGAN GROUP EXPANDS BUSINESS

Okanagan Skeena Group Ltd., of Vancouver, B.C. has announced its agreement to purchase two radio stations from Yellowhead Broadcasting Ltd., of Edson, AB. The two stations are CJYR-AM and CIYR-AM. The format of both stations is a mix of adult contemporary and country. The radio stations are located in the communities of Edson and Hinton, Alberta. As well, the purchase includes repeaters into the communities of Jasper, Whitecourt and Grande Cache, Alberta. The deal is still subject to approval by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission. Okanagan is a regional communications company. Upon completion of the acquisitions, the company will own and operate 33 radio stations, two television stations and 12 cable television stations throughout British Columbia and Alberta.
