LCBO OPENS LARGEST LIQUOR OUTLET IN BAYVIEW VILLAGE
By Adnews Staff
The Liquor Control Board of Ontario opened its first full-service outlet this week. Called the Bayview Village LCBO, and located in Toronto, the outlet is the largest LCBO liquor store in Canada. The store marks LCBO's latest phase in the evolution of retailing and drawing on customer research to create a one-stop shopping environment that provides convenience, information and entertainment. The outlet includes many features such as all regularly listed LCBO products, a Vintages fine wine/spirits/beer section, a beer boutique, a demonstration kitchen for presentations and classes, a gift centre, a premium spirits section, mixed drink displays, an interactive listening station for CDs and an Ontario wine wall. Promotion of the new store will be supported with transit ads within the store area. Advertising for the store is divided into two parts and began early this month with an "open soon" theme. The second part, which begins tomorrow, features ads stating "now open." Advertising for the LCBO is done by the Communique Group of Toronto.
