AMWAY INCREASES TERRITORY, TRIPLES SALES

Amway of Michigan has seen sales triple since opening 15 international affiliates in 1990. In the past fiscal year alone it has begun operating in China, Slovakia, El Salvador, Honduras and Chile. Amway had a 19% increase in sales for the year ending Aug. 31, for a total of $6.3 billion(US). While sales grew in all product lines, health and fitness products were particularly strong, with a 25% growth rate. Artistry cosmetics and skin care products totaled over $900 million in sales globally, and 450,000 Amway Water Treatment Systems were sold in the Pacific and North America. Last year Amway reformulated and repackaged its artistry products and put the National Basketball Association logo on labels for its Nutrilite products.
