SECURITY FIRST AND ROYAL PROVIDE CROSS-BORDER BANKING
By Adnews Staff
Security First Network Bank of Atlanta, Georgia, a member of the Royal Bank Financial Group of Toronto, is trying to make banking easier for those who travel between Canada and the U.S. frequently. The company introduced Royal Embassy Services last week, offering one-stop shopping for access to Royal Bank accounts in Canada and Security First Network Bank accounts worldwide. Under the plan, customers can transfer funds whenever rates seem favorable, rather than accepting current rates before travel. They can access U.S. cash without changing currencies with a Security First Network Bank account at U.S. automated teller machines. In addition, they can set up accounts or transfer funds over the phone between the Royal Bank and Security First, and can maintain accounts year round to take advantage of better returns by moving funds into higher yield money market accounts or certificates of deposit. Royal Embassy Services will be promoted in Canada and the U.S. using in-branch materials and Security First's Web site. The in-branch materials were created in-house with the help of MacLaren McCann of Toronto and Turner, Fernandez, Turner of Atlanta, Georgia. Security First is an Internet bank.
