HUMPTY DUMPTY GOES ON TOUR

Humpty Dumpty has been put back together again. Small Fry Snack Foods of Kitchener, Ont. is promoting its Humpty Dumpty brand of potato chips for the first time in up to 10 years. The promotion will include a tour across Ontario, with the Humpty Dumpty spokes-egg visiting events, festivals, community centres and children's hospitals. It is being handled by Sparks Communications of Kitchener, Ont. Samples of the chips will be given out at the events. This is the first time the spokes-egg has been used since 1994. Small Fry bought Humpty Dumpty Foods that year and began marketing a wide range of salty snacks under various brand names. Small Fry marketing director Lynda Murray told Adnews yesterday that the company decided to re-focus on its core brand because "we see consumers coming back to brands." Humpty Dumpty first appeared on potato chip bags in the early 1950s. Small Fry also plans to run campaigns in Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
