BELL SYMPATICO ADDS MORE HOURS TO MONTHLY PLANS

Bell Sympatico of Toronto is letting Internet enthusiasts surf longer at no extra cost to it. The Internet service has made a few additions to its three monthly plans for Ontario and Quebec customers. The enhanced plans now offer from 30% to 300% more hours and gives consumers a range of plans that reflect their growing use of the Internet and their individual usage patterns. The new plans apply to everyone including occasional, regular and frequent users. Pricing starts at $9.95 a month for 10 hours for an occasional user, $15.95 a month for 60 hours for a regular user and $24.95 a month for 200 hours for a frequent user. Each additional hour cost $1.00. If a user is already a Bell FirstRate Savings Plan customer, they receive bonus hours under the new plans. The Bell FirstRate Savings Plan offers a flat rate of 10 cents per minute for long distance calls to any destination in Canada, evenings and weekends, up to a maximum of $20.00 per month with unlimited calling. The Sympatico Internet service is provided in Ontario and Quebec by Bell Advanced Communications Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Bell Canada. The additional hours and new plans will be promoted to current customers through e-mail and news releases. The plans are effective starting this week. Cossette Communications Marketing of Toronto handles advertising for Bell.
