INDIAN MOTORCYCLE RIDES AGAIN
By Adnews Staff
The Indian Motorcycle Company of Toronto is up and running again, offering a new motorcycle, a line of casual clothing and a chain of cafes and lounges. The new motorcycle is called the 1999 Limited Edition Chief. It features a V twin engine, a modern, low, sleek look, a low custom Corbin seat and a front suspension that is entirely chrome plated. Next year, Indian Motorcycle will launch a proprietary motorcycle and in the year 2000, it will introduce two other models. The clothing line will feature casual clothing for men and women such as leather jackets, sweatshirts and T-shirts. Everything will carry the Indian Motorcycle logo. There will also be seasonal collections. The cafes and lounges will feature an Indian Motorcycle clothing store, displays of original Indian motorcycles, billiards, dance floor and a variety of entertainment programs such as bands and arts-oriented and fashion presentations. The first cafe opened in Toronto this week. Over the next three years, Indian Motorcycle will open cafes in Vancouver, Atlanta, New York, Miami, Las Vegas and Chicago. Advertising plans for the company are being developed. Holmes & Lee of Toronto is working with Indian Motorcycles on a project basis. Indian Motorcycle has not been operating since 1953 because it was caught up in a legal web over trademark rights.
