COMPAQ ADDS BUNCH OF NEW PRODUCTS TO STABLE

Compaq Computer Corp. of Houston, Texas has added a slew of new products to the North American market. The computer maker has installed Intel Corp.'s new 400 megahertz Cerlon processor to its Deskpro EN and EP Series of desktop computers. Also available is a new line of home PCs with built-in home networking. The new machines are called the Presario 1255, the Presario 1260 and the Presario 5677. For the first time buyer, there is the new Presario 2286 and the new 5200 series featuring five different models. The newest PC's allow for faster Internet connections, a one touch scrolling feature to weave through Web pages and allows consumers to surf the Web while making or receiving phone calls on the same line. In Canada, the new computers will be promoted using a national print campaign created by Palmer Jarvis DDB of Vancouver.
