FAIRCHILD EXPANDS RADIO OPERATIONS

The Fairchild Media Group of Vancouver has expanded its radio offerings. The company has launched an ethnic radio station called CHKF FM 94.7. The station broadcasts 24-hours-a-day and offers programs in 19 different languages including Chinese, Dutch, Estonian, German, Italian and other major Asian dialects. In addition, Fairchild's CHKT AM1430 radio station in Toronto is expanding its operations. The station has moved into a new office which will also house CHKT's sales and management operations, as well as five new studios. Enhanced programming will include news flashes every 15 minutes during rush hours and new infotainment programs. Fairchild operates radio and TV stations in Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary.
