MC DIRECT WINS TWO MORE

MC Direct of Toronto recently picked up two new pieces of U.S. business. The agency is now handling advertising for E-Globe of New York and Century Telephone of Monroe, Louisiana.

MC Direct won the E-Globe business without a review. The company was familiar with MC Direct because of work it had done with other companies. E-Globe markets enhanced long distance technology embedded in the chips and magnetic stripes of financial institutions' credit cards. With the stripe embedded on the credit card, consumers can also use the card as a long distance calling card. Financial institutions use it to offer consumers value added services. This is the first time E-Globe has used an agency. The company decided to hire one now because it is changing its focus from the telecommunications sector to the consumer market. MC Direct's first project will be for American Express in Brazil. The agency will also launch campaigns in Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Columbia and Canada over the next year.

MC Direct won the $3 million Century Telephone business after a competition with three other agencies, including the incumbent from Atlanta, Georgia. The agency will be responsible for promoting Century's CPE network features, additional lines and the Internet. MC Direct will launch five direct mail campaigns and two integrated multimedia campaigns for Century by March 1.
