KUTOKA BRINGS CD-ROM TO CANADA

Kutoka Interactive of Montreal brought its newest children's CD-ROM to the Canadian market late last month. The product is already available in the U.K, France, Belgium and Asia. Soon, it will be on store shelves in Germany, the Netherlands and Brazil. Called Mia: The Search For Grandma's Remedy, the CD-ROM builds on children's literacy skills such as spelling, reading, rhyming and phonics through various games and projects. Mia, The Search For Grandma's Remedy is the first in a series of CD-ROMs Kutoka will develop. The others, which will be launched sometime next year, will focus on other learning skills such as mathematics, science and creative thought. Mia, The Search for Grandma's Remedy is being promoted using PR done by Holmes Creative Communications of Toronto. Kutoka may begin promoting the product through advertising in the spring. First, it wants to see how far PR will take the CD-ROM, and increase the product's distribution. Currently, it is available at The Business Depot in eastern Canada and at West World Computers in western Canada. Until now, Kutoka hasn't done any advertising for its products. The company has focused on developing its CD-ROMS, while other companies would publish them. Kutoka's other CD-ROMs include Cyber Grannies, which is published by Fisher-Price and Compaq, Tracker Finds a New Home, which is published by Hoffman and Associates and the Cassandra Galleries, which is also published by Hoffman.
