MTS INTRODUCES PREPAID WIRELESS SERVICE

MTS Mobility of Winnipeg has moved into the prepaid wireless communications market. The company launched its prepaid calling service this week, which allows customers to pay for their cellular or digital PCS service up front. Called Mobility to Go, customers buy prepaid vouchers in denominations of $30 or $60. When their account runs low, they refill it by purchasing additional vouchers. To use the service, customers can purchase a new or used phone, or re-activate one that is currently not in use. Mobility to Go is available in Winnipeg and Brandon, Manitoba. It will roll out to the rest of the province over the next four weeks. MTS is promoting the service using newspaper ads. Outdoor ads may be added later this year.
