U.S.-based Mattel Inc. has unveiled three new collectible dolls to the North American market. They are the Elvis Presley doll, Lucille Ball as Lucy Ricardo doll and the Audrey Hepburn doll. The Elvis doll is dressed in a black leather jacket and pants to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Elvis' 1968 TV Special in Hawaii. The doll features blue eyes, black molded hair and sideburns. The Lucille Ball doll celebrates a show from the I Love Lucy Show entitled Lucy Does a TV Commercial. The doll wears a black and white houndstooth dress and is holding a bottle of Vitameatavegamin, the product Lucy was pushing in the episode. The Audrey Hepburn doll commemorates Hepburn's role as Holly Golightly in the 1961 film, Breakfast At Tiffany's. The doll features brown eyes an upswept brunette hairstyle, a long, black, sleeveless dress offset by a white georgette stole, opera-length gloves, sunglasses and faux pearl jewelry. In Canada, Mattel mainly relies on word-of-mouth to promote its collectible dolls. It will also be using a brochure created in-house.
