TOURISM BOARD GOES DOWN UNDER

The Canadian Tourism Commission wants Australians to know that Canada is the place to be if they want outdoor adventure. The organization launched a newspaper campaign this week in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane that features such images as high-flying snowboarders and polar bears up close. The ads use a theme park concept. Images of words such as "ticket reading," "Admit Two" and "Admit Family" reinforce the theme park concept. The ads encourage readers to obtain a free vacation planner through e-mail or a 1-800 number. The ads can also be clipped as coupons and mailed for more information. The ads were done in partnership with Canadian Airlines International. The tagline on the ads is: "Go Canadian. Go to Canada. Go for the Real Thing." The campaign was created by Vickers & Benson Advertising of Toronto.
