WELCOME WAGON STAYS ON TRACK IN CANADA

Welcome Wagon Ltd. of Toronto wants Canadians to know its alive and well and unaffected by changes in the U.S. The U.S. Welcome Wagon has decided to discontinue its personal delivery of Community Welcome packages and to utilize direct mail instead. The Welcome Wagon in Canada wants Canadians to know that this is not happening in Canada. Hostesses will continue to provide samples, gifts and information from local merchants at peoples' homes. Welcome Wagon in Canada has 1,300 hostesses serving 500 communities across Canada. About 150,000 families are greeted each year with Community Welcome packages, as well as other packages for significant change-of-life scenarios such as having a baby. In 1999, Welcome Wagon will launch a new magazine called Babies Quarterly. It will be mailed free-of-charge to new mothers at the three, six, nine and 12-month stage of their babies development.
