SCOTT TOUTS STRENGTH OF COTTONELLE

Scott Paper Ltd. of Mississauga, Ont. says it has made its Cottonelle bathroom tissue stronger and launched a national TV spot earlier this month to prove it. The commercial features two young boys in neighboring houses. The younger one has been sent to his room without dessert. The older of the two comes up with the idea to create a Cottonelle bridge between their windows, and sends his friend a melting popsicle on the back of a toy truck. Despite some tense moments, the Cottonelle tissue holds out and the young boy gets his popsicle, until his mother walks into his room. The ad was created by Bozell Worldwide of Toronto. The commercial steps away from Cottonelle's regular advertising, which usually promote the brand's softness.
