CONSUMERS GAS CHANGES NAME

Toronto-based Consumers Gas has changed its name to Enbridge Consumers Gas. Consumers Gas was bought by IPL Energy Inc. in 1994. IPL has since changed its name to Enbridge. Enbridge operates a crude oil and liquids pipeline, delivering liquids and natural gas to destinations in Canada and the U.S. Its also provides gas and retail services in Ontario, Quebec and New York state. The new name will be promoted using TV, newspaper and magazine ads created by TBWA Chiat/Day of Toronto. Enbridge operates up to 20 units, such as its retail stores, within its company. Over the next nine months, Enbridge will spin off these companies into sister companies.
