MACLEAN HUNTER DEVELOPS WOMEN'S UNIT

Toronto-based Maclean Hunter Publishing has set up a new consultant division to handle marketing to women. Called The Women's Group - Marketing Solutions, the unit will consult with companies who are interested in targeting the women's market and its potential for future growth. Services will include strategic planning, research, creative development, database/relationship marketing, promotions, seminars, conferences and training. So far, clients have included Lever Ponds and Trimark Investments. MacLean Hunter publishes four women's magazines: Chatelaine, the French-language version of Chatelaine, Modern Woman and Flare. Sandra McInnis has joined The Women's Group as vice-president. Previously she held a senior marketing position at American Express. Reg Finlayson is business development director. Most recently he headed up Chatelaine's sales and marketing efforts. Heather Walzak is a marketing associate for The Women's Group. Formerly she worked at United Parcel Service.
