COA TO INCREASE AWARENESS

The Canadian Olympic Association recently handed its account to The Communiqué Group of Toronto. The agency won the business after a competition with an undisclosed number of agencies. Until now, IL&M of Toronto handled some advertising for the COA, but the organization mainly promoted itself through its sponsors. The COA decided to hire an agency now because it wants to build awareness of what the group does for athletes, coaches, national sports federations, potential sponsors, the media and consumers. The COA is responsible for taking Canadian teams to the Olympic Games, maintaining the integrity of the Olympic image and emblem in Canada and for securing the financial resources to fund Olympic programming.
