MAGAZINE REVENUES ON THE RISE

Canadian magazines reported total revenues of $ 1 billion for the fiscal 1996/97 year, according to Statistics Canada. This is the first time that has happened since 1992/93. Of those revenues, 62 cents of every dollar came from advertising. Canadian magazine revenues had dropped to $980 million in 1994/95.
