INTERNET POPULARITY GROWING IN EUROPE

Internet use among European businessmen is growing, according to a study conducted by IPSOS-RSL of London. About 64% of businessmen use the Internet for their business, compared to 18% in 1996. Seventy-three per cent own mobile phones, more than double the 33% who said they used them two years ago. Eighty-five per cent of the respondents said they use computers in the office, while 64% use them at home. The most technology-savvy executives live in Scandinavia, where 90% of respondents use technology in their business. Only 60% of executives in Belgium and Luxembourg are comfortable with technology. Businessmen are also traveling more, but using business and first class less. The number traveling economy class grew 25%.
