AMEX PROVIDES EXTRA BENEFITS FOR PLATINUM MEMBERS

Amex Canada of Markham, Ont. has increased the benefits for holders of its Platinum credit card. Beginning this week, cardholders will receive one-and-a-half points for every dollar spent on the card. Until now, they received one point. In addition, at the beginning of each year, Platinum card holders will receive a voucher entitling them to a complimentary Canadian Airlines companion ticket. Cardholders who use their Platinum card to purchase a ticket with Canadian Airlines can use the voucher to bring along a guest for free. The additional benefits will be promoted using direct mail handled by OgilvyOne of Toronto.
