SUBWAY JOINS FORCES WITH CARTOON COMPANIES

Subway Restaurants of Milford, Connecticut has teamed up with Warner Brothers and the Cartoon Network to promote its Kids' Pak meal until the end of the year in North America. Upcoming promotions will include Marvin the Martian's 50th birthday from Aug. 17 to Sept. 20, Super Heroes Hangers from Oct. 26 to Nov. 29, as well as The Flintstones and The Jetsons from Nov. 30 to Dec. 28. The Marvin the Martian promotion will feature the Looney Tunes character, as well as his pals Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig and his dog K-9. Toys to be included in the Kids' Pak meal will include a ruler, stamp set, crayon case, clipboard and notepad. The Super Heroes promotion will feature Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and The Flash figurines that can hook onto knapsacks. The Flintstones and The Jetsons' Kids Pak will feature such toys as a bouncing Fred Flintmobile, which has Fred bouncing as you push him in his stone age vehicle, Spinning Astro, which is a wind up toy and watch of The Jetsons' dog Astro, a stone age wristband and a space age wristband. Subway will support the promotions using in-store materials created by Publicis Hal Riney & Partners of San Francisco. Local TV ads will also be made available to franchisees.
