CHUM SECURES DISTRIBUTORS FOR MUCHMOREMUSIC

CHUM Ltd. of Toronto says its MuchMoreMusic station being launched in September will be available in 3.5 million homes. The broadcaster has secured distribution agreements with Canadian cable, satellite and wireless distribution companies to carry the specialty stations. The companies include Rogers Communications, Cable Atlantic, Star Choice Television Network, Videotron Communications Ltd. and the Canadian Cable Systems Alliance. MuchMoreMusic is a 24-hour music video channel targeting the 35 to 54-year-old age group. It will feature adult contemporary, light rock, classic hits, soul, rhythm and blues, reggae, jazz and new age music. CHUM says the station will fill the gap between MuchMusic, which is geared to teenagers and Country Music Television.
